Workout: 13M to Twin Lakes & fun trail loop

Earlier this week it was announced that the 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris and the 2028 Olympics will be held in Los Angeles, both great cities!

“How was your run?” is a hard question to answer fully, so my go-to response is “good.” But, now I will tell how my run really went this morning...

Run to Twin Lakes
As the sun gently peaks over the mountain tops,
Birds fill the air with a harmonious melody,
Squirrels scatter to the nearest nook,
Deer stand still with only the twitch of an ear

“Thump thump”
Footsteps run along the dirt trail
As the heart beats in perfect synchrony

Inhale. Exhale.
Thin crisp air fills the lungs
And transcends to thirsty muscles.

Water rushes down the edge of a cliff,
Ending in a gentle trickling against the rocks
And a marvelous expanse that reflects it all.
Came across a new friend along my run whose happiness filled my heart as I gently stroked his soft hair.
I felt a little adventurous and so I packed up lunch, took water and a map and was out the door. These were the places I explored:

Tom’s Place – trails alongside a stream wrapped around the mountains
Convict Lake – sat on a rock and dipped my feet in the cool water while eating lunch
Mammoth Museum – learned some history and saw old artifacts
Mammoth Welcome Center – gift shop, animal fur, outdoor adventure books
Library – browsed hundreds of 50 cent books and bought one
